AREA 51 UPDATE - 11/05/00:
KING ON A STRING - We have never seen Lampost Pizza so packed! Why, and most importantly, what is "King on a String", you ask? Well, it is probably the most unique show you will ever see. It all started with a friend of Phil Sr.'s who decided it was his life-long ambition (don't laugh) to produce an Elvis marionette show. If you don't know what a marionette is, just watch "The Sound of Music". We went to this show with the thought of humoring this friend considering he invested quite a lot of money in this endeavor. This was his debut, and WOW, what a debut! The place was packed - standing room only. The curtain went up and there was Elvis and a four-piece band. The music started and the crowd went wild! A little Elvis, bass player, piano player (Phil Sr.), guitarist and drummer started rockin' out. Elvis's little pelvis was workin' the audience big time. The Lampost Pizza manager did such good business that he gave the players a pitcher of beer and pizza! All but two shirts were sold. King on a String was a big hit! SWEDE SPLIT - It's finally happened. Jim "Beautiful Swede" Swendson has turned in his resignation at Ingram Micro after 5 years of employment. His final day is scheduled for Friday, November 17th. Swede was hit with an enormous epiphany last weekend and decided that he needed to travel through Scandanavia (Finland, Sweden, Norway & Denmark), the homeland of his ancestors. And, no, he doesn't have another job lined up, so please stop asking him. Thanks!
HALLOWEEN PICS - Thank goodness for pictures! It was an eye-opener when Pique got an email from a fparty guest that said, "I have pictures from Hallows Eve... and your clevage". Perhaps Pique's costume was popular, but the one party detail that spread like wildfire was what the winners of the digital cameras did. It really put this party on the map, as it were. There are pictures of this grotesque display of competition in someone's camera that hasn't been developed yet, and no, we will not post them on the web site. You'll have to come to a Friday Family Night to see them. Here are a few pics that were taken at the party. More to come once the film is developed!
