AREA 51 UPDATE - 9/9/00:
OBNOXIOUS PARTY RECAP: What can we say. It was Obnoxious! The best part was that nobody got hurt. Or at least the pain faded within a day or two. A good time was had by all who attended. We saw friends that we haven't seen in quite a while and some of us participated in the Area 51 hot tub. Patty decided that she needed to dance to Prodigy with The Beautiful Swede and it took her about two hours to catch her breath. Eat your heart out, Britney!
Uh, Swede is going for his 2nd degree black belt. There was a type-o on the last update and I humbly apologize for the absence of two particularly important words.
Marriage: A Decade of Teamwork
As some of you may or may not know, we just celebrated our 10
year anniversary. It's against all odds that we are still
together which motivates us to keep going. Through the years, we
have learned a few things about this special institution:
1. From graduating college to the birth
of a child, sharing these proud moments make it all worth while.
2. When you know that the end result has got to be "And They
Lived Happily Ever After", it's easier to make the right
decisions.
3. Marriage requires constant maintenance. The challege is making
the effort count.
4. Compromise is not an option, it's a pre-requisite to marriage.
Otherwise, you'll never stop arguing over which way the toilet
paper goes.
5. Marriage is kind of like a business. Staff meetings should be
held regularly to discuss personal goals and objectives.
LOTTERY: We've decided that we will begin a Lottery Pool on Friday nights at Area 51. Bring your $$$ and we will purchase the tickets that night. Whatever winnings we get, we will split among the participants. The more tickets we buy, the better our chances of winning! Lou-dog will take the mathmatical approach and Patty will take the psychic approach. We'll see which one is more effective.
Speaking of psychic, have you seen John Edward on the Sci-Fi channel? His show is called "Crossing Over" and it's on every day at 8:00pm except Friday's & Saturday's. If you have Time-Warner, it's channel 65. This guy receives messages from people who have crossed over and relays them to relatives that have been left behind. His talent is uncanny and even the biggest skeptic can't figure out how it could possibly be a trick. He has a book out called "One Last Time" and it is absolutely facinating.
