AREA 51 UPDATE - 5/14/00:
SWENDSON'S BACK FROM HAWAII! He arrived late on Mother's Day and we believe he received the perspective he was looking for. Aside from the obvious feelings of wanting to go back, he is excited to tell us all the stories and show us pictures of sea turtles and beach babes. He'll be around this coming weekend, but not on Friday.
We had a close call at AES last week when Dennis Stone was celebrating his last day of employment. Executive staff came back with a revision to his compensation plan that eliminated any need for Dennis to seek work elsewhere. A day of sadness turned in a day of rejoicing! Yay!
I know you're saying to yourself, "Self, I think that The Tom & Patty Show sure knows how to host a party. Well, guess what? We're hosting another one - and you're invited! This is actually a first at Area 51. It's a PartyLite event where we will have a bunch of candles lit around the house and back yard. You can come and see these beautiful candles and accessories and even purchase some if you want. Personally, we are low on our candle stock and need to replenish! Mark your calendars for Wednesday, May 25th at 7:00pm. Boys and girls welcome!
Just when you were recovering from the Easter/Good Friday weekend, Cinco de Mayo and Mother's Day, Memorial weekend is right around the corner! I'm thinking BBQ on Sunday, May 28th. Why? Solely because we don't have to work on Monday and that is cause for celebration! So, mark your calendars and keep your eyes peeled for the details. Besides, it gives us a good reason to throw bacce balls at each other.
Tom and I were thinking that perhaps we would stop hosting Friday Family Nights for a while. I think we're all a little sapped and don't feel much like volunteering time or contributing ingredients to making dinner and/or dessert. After all, that was what Family Night was all about originally: Getting together, cooking and relaxing. We're getting lazy (ordering pizza, etc). We think we need to break the monotony a little.
