AREA 51 UPDATE - 8/14/00:
Jacuzzi Update: The heater came today! Lou-dog tested the tub this weekend and found only a couple of minor leaks in the plumbing. There were no leaks in the tub itself which was a huge relief. It's clean now and ready for the heater to be installed. Once Lou-dog gives us the green light, it will be ready for action!
Bujinkan Seminar: We've reopened the doors for Bujinkan Brothers & Sisters to join us in our backyard for yet another mind & wrist-twisting seminar. Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 26th at 12:00 (noon). Please welcome our friend and sensei, Kevin Millis! And to double your anticipation, Luigi will be cooking for you later that afternoon. You should be receiving a flyer in the mail. If it missed you, please call 714-775-CLAN to get the details. Observers are welcome... for a small fee. Shut up and roll!
Movies: Here are a couple of movies to look out for!
1. Godzilla 2000 - Coming August 18th. This one is in traditional Japanese style reminenscent of previous Godzilla movies, so it's bound to be good. The soundtrack sounds awesome! I think White Zombie does the music for the trailer. Yeah baby!
2. The Art of War - Coming August 25th (Tom's birthday), staring Wesley Snipes. "Know your enemy. Know yourself. Know when to strike." I think some of us will be seeing this on opening night with Tommy!
Web Poll: The results are in! Over half of the Area 51 Family (51%) use Verizon Wireless (formerly Airtouch). AT&T users came in at 25% and 22% of you use Sprint or another service. Good to know that we don't get charged when calling half of our family on our cell phones! If you are using another service, keep that in mind. You may want to switch over to Verizon to keep your cell phone bills down.
Daycare Nightmare: Tom and I finally found a daycare that is worthy of being graced with our daughter's presence. We were just about ready to place her in the establishment while the grandparents were on vacation when we realized that she has yet to have her TB test. The daycare, while perfect in every way, is unable to admit her until she's had this done. Rules are rules, after all. In calling the doctors office to make an appointment, we discovered that we would not be seen for two weeks. This rather defeated the purpose for putting her in daycare full time as the grandparents would be back by then. With no other options left, we are working part-time each day taking care of Laura. If we seem a bit ragged, you'll know why.
